Prof. Katsue Suzuki-Inoue received The Soroptimist Japan Foundation Female Researcher Award 2016
Prof. Katsue Suzuki-Inoue of department of Clinical and Laboratory Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, received The Soroptimist Japan Foundation Female Researcher Award 2016 and annual award ceremony was held in Miyazaki on November 8, 2016.
This award is aimed to give the opportunity for further progress to talented women who are doing promising research. Only one person nationwide was chosen among individuals recommended by each Soroptimist branch.
She received recommendation from Eiko Suganuma, president of International Soroptimist Yamanashi.
She discovers the protein “CLEC-2” on platelets and makes anti-CLEC-2 medicine that weakens its function and is studying ways to prevent cancer metastasis, myocardial infarction, cerebral infarction and so on.
She said “I am very honored that I was able to win such an award. We will continue research and aim for practical use of medicines.”
