A paper by Prof. Katsuyoshi Kakinuma of the Clean Energy Research Center and Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Nanomaterials Center, Dr. Kazuhiko Omote and Dr. Tomoyuki Iwata of X-ray Research Lab. Rigaku Co. “Small Angle X-Ray Scattering Study for Investigating the 3D Packing Structure of Pt Catalysts on Gd-Doped CeO2 Supports for Fuel Cells” was published in Advanced Theory and Simulations by WILEY, and was selected to be featured on the back cover of the journal. In this paper, the invention of new characterization technique of catalyst layers for polymer electrolyte fuel cells was reported. Prof. Kakinuma commented that this new characterization technique will contribute to the acceleration of cathode catalyst layers development by simulation toward the introduction of DX technologies.
