Social Gathering for International Students and Researchers

　The social gathering for international students and researchers was held on Monday, Dec. 5th at Kofu campus.

　Every year this social gathering aims at mutual understanding among the international students, researchers and their family members as well as university staff and community representatives.

　The number of participants counts 163, which consists of 8 community representatives, 34 university staff, and 121 of international students, researchers and their family members.

　The gathering commenced with a welcome address by the President of University of Yamanashi, Dr. Shinji Shimada followed by speeches from the Mayer of Chuo city, the representatives of international students and a toast proposed by the Executive Director, Mr. Tetsuo Hori.

　In return, there followed presentations such as “Romanian Christmas” by a Romanian student, a mixed chorus by residents of international dormitory and a dance performance by the group of international students and Japanese volunteer students who support them. They brought cheerful smiles to the floor and the gathering came to an end by the closing address by the Director for International Education and Exchange, Prof. Xiaoyang Mao.
