Ms. Makoto Saiki (B4) received Excellent Poster Presentation Award at the Annual JSWE Conference
Ms. Makoto Saiki, B4 student of Department of Environmental Sciences (Supervisor: Dr. Kei Nishida), was awarded “Excellent Poster Presentation Award (LION Award)”at 50th Annual Conference of Japan Society on Water Environment held in Tokushima during 16 – 18 March 2016.
This award aims to promote research motivation for young student in universities, colleges and junior colleges. Among 85 applicants, 12 awardees were selected through the votes from 240 experts.
The title of the presentation was “Comparison of nitrogen runoff processes from paddy fields in Yamanashi and Vietnam using stable isotope analyses”, showing a part of the results from a research collaboration between Interdisciplinary Centre for River Basin Environment (ICRE, University of Yamanashi) and Hanoi University of Science.
Ms. Saiki said, “It is my great honour to receive such a big award. I truly appreciate the cooperation from senior in the lab, ICRE staff, HUS members and local farmers kindly provided their paddies for this research“.
