Special concert by world-renowned pianist Yukio Yokoyama! 28th Invited Lecture “Culture and Regional Development”
On Wednesday, September 21,2022, the 28th President’s Invitation Special Lecture was held at the Satoshi Omura Museum.
We invited a world-renowned pianist Yukio Yokoyama to perform a total of seven classical pieces by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and others.
Mr. Yokoyama was the youngest Japanese ever to win a prize at the 12th International Chopin Piano Competition, and has since received numerous other awards, including the Art Encouragement Prize of the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology.
At the concert, President Shimada said,” I was very impressed with his performance at a concert in Kofu City in 2020. It is a great honor to have Mr. Yokoyama here today.
The audience listened to the tones of the piano and enjoyed a moment of familiarity with classical music.
Mr. Yokoyama was awarded the title of Visiting Professor by President Shimada on the same day.
