Held the progress report meeting for “A3I: Real Problem Solving Driven Artificial Intelligence Education Program “

On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, the progress report meeting for the “A3I: Real Problem Solving Driven Artificial Intelligence Education Program” was held at the Kofu campus, attended by a total of 20 participants from Hangzhou Dianzi University (China), Pukyong National University (Korea), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (Malaysia), and University of Yamanashi.

At the beginning of the meeting, President Kazuhiko Nakamura gave an opening address, saying, “About 100 students have participated in this program every year, and many joint research projects have yielded significant results. We will do our utmost to further develop this educational program.

After the opening remarks by the representatives of each university, reports on the status of their respective programs were presented.

From University of Yamanashi, Executive Director Xiaoyang Mao first gave an overview of the program as a whole, its objectives, and future developments. Prof. Hiromitsu Nishizaki Director of the Center for the Promotion of Internationalization reported on the progress of the program and the results of the exchange at University of Yamanashi. Afterwards, program directors from Hangzhou Dianzi University (China), Pukyong National University (Korea), Universiti Malaysia Perlis (Malaysia) reported on the situation and issues at their respective universities.

The meeting concluded with a discussion in which participants engaged in a lively exchange of policy and views on future issues.

The progress report meeting was concluded with the confirmation of goals for further development of the program.

The “A3I: Real Problem Solving Driven Artificial Intelligence Education Program” ( INTER-UNIVERSITY EXCHANGE PROJECT by MEXT) is a collaboration among the University of Yamanashi (Japan), Hangzhou Dianzi University (China), Pukyong National University (Korea), and Universiti Malaysia Perlis (Malaysia) to develop an exchange program that leverages the unique characteristics of each university, thereby creating a bridge between Asian countries with internationality, knowledge and applied skills. The objective is to develop AI human resources with internationality, knowledge and applied skills to lead Society 5.0 and DX in Asia.
